TATRANEWS - February Newsletter
Hello, my friends: This February has been a momentous month for me. Among other notable events, I had a big birthday, enjoyed my lovely new little granddaughter, Sophia, went on safari in Kenya and had my fifth novel, THE RAINBOW VINTNER, published.
THE RAINBOW VINTNER, my thriller about international terrorism and a right-wing coup in France was published by Black Opal Books on February 16th and has already received strong reviews. The third memoir in my Cold War Escape Trilogy, THE FENCERS, the true story of my friend Paul Szabó, a Romanian-Hungarian fencer I helped defect at the 1976 Montreal Olympics, where I represented Canada, will be published on March 1 by Deux Voiliers Publishing. Watch for it on Amazon, B&N and at your bookstore among other sites. Olya Ovtchinnikova, a fellow Canadian Olympic fencer (2008) and the Program Manager for the Canadian Olympic Committee was kind enough to write a Foreword for the book. I am also looking forward to the publication by P.R.A. Publishing of my third poetry collection,EXTINCTION, in early April, poetry month. I am delighted to announce the following events that I would love to see my friends at:
Peter Fox Smith, my friend and fellow Vermont poet, and I will be reading at the PoemCity poetry festival in Montpelier at the Vermont Humanities Council at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, April 17.
I will be launching all three of my new books at the Norman Williams Public Library in Woodstock on Thursday, April 18 4:30-6:00 pm.
The Toronto launch of all three new books will be at Ben McNally Books at 366 Bay St, Toronto Wednesday, May 15 6:00-8:00 pm.
I am working on other launch events in Montreal, Cambridge / Boston, Ottawa, Burlington, Rutland and Bellows Falls among other places. I will keep my friends posted as these events get firmed up. Happy reading, Geza
