TATRANEWS - April Newsletter

Hello, my friends: With my three recent releases - RAINBOW VINTNER in February, THE FENCERS in March and EXTINCTION in April - it has been a whirlwind of activity. I will keep this Newsletter short, just to remind my readers of the various book events I have scheduled, in the hopes that some of you might be able to join me to celebrate. The events are as follows: April 17th, 6:00 pm - Montpelier VT - PoemCity reading with Peter Fox Smith, my good friend and fellow Vermont poet, where I will be mainly reading from my new poetry collection, EXTINCTION at the Vermont Humanities Council. April 18th, 4:00-5:30 pm - Woodstock VT - the very first launch of my three new books at the Norman Williams Public Library. I will be reading from, presenting and signing books. May 1st, 7:00 pm - Cambridge MA - I will be launching THE FENCERS at The Harvard Coop. Some of the action in the book takes place at my alma mater and indeed friends from Harvard are in the book. May 15th, 6:00-8:00 pm - Toronto ON- Ben McNally's Books (366 Bay Street) will be hosting a launch of all three of the new books. I started my fencing career at my high school, UTS, and Ben McNally is a friend from there. May 16th or 17th - Ottawa ON - TBD launch of THE FENCERS. May 22nd, 4:30-6:00 pm - Montreal PQ - The Canadian Olympic Committee (500 Blvd. René Lévesque W. 2nd Floor) is hosting a launch of THE FENCERS. Just to remind everyone, the books are: THE FENCERS - my third memoir, this is the story of Paul Szabó, a Romanian-Hungarian fencer I befriended on the international competitive circuit and helped defect to Canada at the Montreal 1976 Olympics. The book was published in March by Deux Voiliers Publishing. RAINBOW VINTNER - an international political thriller I wrote mostly when I lived in Bordeaux, which is where much of the action takes place. The protagonist, Morgan Kenworthy, an American exchange student, tries to figure out whether a series of bombings that devastate the French government was jihadist terrorism or a far-right extremist coup. The book was published in mid-February by Black Opal Books. EXTINCTION - my third poetry collection brings together poems written over the last two years, most of which speak to what we are doing to our environment, to other species as well as ourselves, and to personal "extinction", although many celebrate the beauty of life. This book was published by. P.R.A. Publishing in early April. Hope to see you at one of the events! Happy reading, Geza
